Steampunk Book Covers

Hi Everyone!  I hope you are all doing well!  Today I have an extra project being shown on both the Altered Pages and Leaky Shed Studio Blog.

The Altered Pages Design Team has been showcasing the Leaky Shed Chipboard Elements throughout July.

I decided to play with the genre of Steampunk, this is something I haven't really done too much before and using some 6 x 6 mat board pieces from Altered Pages  I decided to make some book covers.  I My projects features two sets of Chipboard Pieces from the Leaky Shed who have an assortment of Steampunk Inspired Elements for you to choose from.

I loved getting inky fingers and how this turned out!   But for all the details and to see my project in full you will have to visit the Altered Pages Blog.

Have to share my excitement too today as it's now only seven weeks till I fly out to New Zealand for holidays and my annual catch up with my AFA Art Friends.

Home Tweet Home Canvas

Over on the Altered Pages Blog today I am sharing a small mixed media canvas I made using a chipboard bird from the Leaky Shed Studio who Altered Pages is cross promoting with this month.

Here's a sneak peak of it, but to see it in full you will have to head over to the Altered Pages Blog. And while you are there you really should check out what the rest of the team have been creating this month too with the Leaky Shed Chipboard Range.

Also a reminder that again this month when you leave a comment on any blog post over on the Altered Pages Blog you will be in the running for a sweet prize.

Some of the other items I have used for this piece all of which are available from Altered Pages include the 4 x 6 Canvas Board, Glitz and Bazzill Papers, Splash Inks, Gesso, Gel Medium, Faber Castell Big Brush Marker Pens, Dylusions Around the Edge Stamps, Gold Leaf, Seam Binding, Music Score Ribbon, Burlap, Collage Sheet Images, Flowers and Dew Drops.

Let Your Dreams Take Flight

I am back from down south and visiting with family and am somewhat pleased to be back to slightly warmer weather.  The wind down there was freezing and went straight through you, which didn't help my cough which has come back a bit for the worse.  But I am now warm and comfy in my own home catching up on things, even the stuff I don't enjoy like house work.

Anyhow this month Altered Pages are teaming up with the Leaky Shed who specialise in chipboard embellishments. And today over on the blog I am sharing a journal page I created using their delightful kites 3 piece pack and lots of products you can buy from Altered Pages.

To see my journal spread in full and all the details of what I used to create it, you will however have to pop over to the Altered Pages Blog here.

I hope you have a day!

Trending Tuesdays - Making Moos

Yes another month has just flown by and its time for another Trending Tuesdays post with the Altered Pages Design Team.  All month the team at Altered Pages has been playing along with the themes over at Unruly PaperArts which have been Mail Art and Moos and their RAQ themes of Teacups and Tiaras, so the challenge for today was to make some Moo's.

You may remember I gave a bit of sneak peek in one of my earlier posts of my project for today.

I teamed up some bits and pieces from my Mailbox Muse - Alice's Utterly Mad Party Kit with a chipboard Tea Cup from the Leaky Shed.

I used the stamps in the Mail Box Muse Kit and the Moo Background Collage Sheet from Altered Pages to create my three Alice Inspired Moos.

I had someone in mind to send these to, so I mounted them onto a piece of the G45 paper which came as part of the Mailbox Muse Kit and decided to make a envelope with some of the other papers in the kit using my Quick Cutz Eyelet Die to house them in.

I painted my Chipboard Tea Cup from the Leaky Shed with Green Acrylic Paint before adding some more color with ink and a few extra details before adding this to the front of my envelope.

I stamped the Alice's Utterly Made Tea Cup wording onto my tea cup and then used a little bit of twine and a small piece of cardstock to create the look of a teabag to which I added some further stamping.  My completed project is already on its way overseas to it's new home.

Making these moos got me in the mood for making some more and I will be sharing my love for making Moo's a little later this week over on the Unruly PaperArts Blog if you'd care to take a look.

Thanks for stopping by today and happy creating!
