Embellishing with Tear Drops Take 2 - A Tutorial.

Following on from yesterday's post using Tear Drops from the Robin's Nest, they make wonderful flower petals, and today I have taken this idea one step further and used them to enhance/embellish my stamped flower design.

I randomly stamped with Black Archival Ink my chosen flower which perfectly matched the size of my Tear Drops  (Ippity - Friends + Flowers = Priceless Set by Unity) over a piece of white cardstock which was cut to the size of my card front.

I then took my Big Brush Stampers Pens from Faber Castell (Deep Scarlet Red #219, Cadmium Yellow #107 & Cobalt Blue #143) and colored in the petals of each flower.

With a Fine Black Sharpie Pen I doodled small squiggly scrolls between the flowers.

Taking some of the Robin's Nest Tear Drops in matching Colors to my Big Brush Stampers Pens I glued these to one stamped flower of each color and added a Neutral toned Dew Drop to each of my doodled scrolls.  Both the Tear Drops and Dew Drops are transparent so you can see the design through them.

I rounded the corners on one side of my stamped card front and then added a piece of orange ribbon down the other.  I then layered this onto a piece of Mango Cardstock and my Black Card Base, both of which are also from the Robin's Nest.

Supplies Used
Stamps from the Ippity - Friends + Flowers = Priceless Set by Unity
Black and Mango Cardstock from the Robin's Nest
Red, Yellow and Blue Tear Drops and Beige Dew Drops also from the Robin's Nest.
Orange Ribbon, Big Brush Stamper Pens, Black Sharpie Pen, Black Archival Ink and
White Cardstock all from my own stash.

And there you have it a quick and rather easy card, which is bright and colorful and has lots of dimension and interest thanks to the Tear Drops and Dew Drops from the Robin's Nest.

31 Day Card Challenge Day 16 - 18

Hi everyone!  Thank you so much for all the lovely comments you have been leaving for me, they are such wonderful encouragement and very much appreciated.  I am back today with the latest three days worth of cards for the 31 Day Card Challenge.  I am pleased to say I have made it past the half way point and on the down hill run......however I do believe the challenges are getting somewhat harder.....lol.

This weeks saw us begin some Fancy Fold Challenges and upon uploading my photos to do my blog post I see that I was in some what of a monochromatic mood.

Day 16 - Create a Side Step Card.

I had a small collage of Santa (from Altered Pages) left on my desk so this was my starting point for this one and seeing Mary Kate's (hosting the 31 Day Card Challenge) card using glitter the other day I thought I would give her technique with the Double Sided Tape a try.

All the papers were bits in my scrap box and the Sentiment is from one of my favorite SU Sets - Many Merry Messages.  Of course it wouldn't be complete without a few Dew Drops (Christmas Collection) from the Robin's Nest.

Day 17 - Create a Gate Fold Card

For this one, I had a scrap of Concord Crush Polka Dot Paper left over from a project I made early in the week, so being it was my favorite color I couldn't resist using it.

The stamps both image and sentiment are from the Ippity by Unity Set called Thankful for You.

Day 18 - Create an Easel Card

This is one of my favorite fancy folds, I decided to go with a Masculine Theme for this one.  Using the Stampin' Up! Set Totally Tools.

More Paper Scraps (SU Choc Chip DSP)  were used for this one, and I have colored in the image with my Tria Markers.

Thanks for stopping by.

Dad - A Manly Card Challenge

I've been on a bit of a mission of sorts this week and have been making lots of cards.  After yesterdays post which I said would be my last one until I am back from Brisbane on Friday, I found another Unity Challenge Blog - All Things Unity so Idecided to join in the fun for their latest challenge, ATU33 - Get Manly so I just had to share my card with you all.

The challenge is to create a male card for your Dad, Hubby, or other male in your life using your Unity or Ippity Stamps.

Last week I got the Ippity Set - Authentic Man so I put another fabulous stamp (the row of ties) from this set to use to create this card along with the gingham ribbon border and simple sentiment DAD from the Unity April Kit of the Month. I love the clean look and bright colours of this one.

Father's Dad is coming up in the States soon, so there are a couple of male/father's day oriented challenges I have also entered this card for: - Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday and Stamptacular Sunday, who's challenges I have played along with a few times now, as well as making this my second entry into the Cards for Men Blue and Black Challenge.

Thanks for looking.

An Authentic Man Card

I don't own that many images suitable for Men, but just recently I came across an Ippity Set - Authentic Man on Ebay which had some wonderful male images and sentiments so I just had to have it.  A big thanks to Alex Hughes the one and only Ippity Endorsed Chick in Australia who made a wonderful first impression with her prompt delivery of my new stamps and the additional touches she added to her packaging.

Stamps: Ippity by Unity Stamp Company - Authentic Man Set
All other items used - Stampin' Up!

Anyway as soon as I had them in my hot little hands........yesterday afternoon to be exact I had to break them out and create something with them.  So I decided to check in on the Cards for Men Challenge Blog.......and play along with their current challenge - Challenge #12 Blue and Black .

I have also been checking out some other wonderful challenge blogs and will be back to share some more creations for some of these later.
