Monday morning was one of the coldest days we have had so far this winter, and like most people when you start feeling the elements of winter, you can start feeling a little blue. So it was a good time to let thoughts of tropical islands, sunny days and bright flowers creep into my mind. A mental warming up so to speak to keep the creative juices from freezing over.
I started my day off with making three tropical feeling cards, and by the end of the day I had 9 cards in total (a very creative day for me), all were various colours and themes but it is my tropical inspirations I want to share with you today, as these bright and cheery colours really lifted my spirits on such a cold day.
The Stamp Set used for the flowers was Stampin' Up!'s Eastern Blooms. This Stamp Set was one of the first Stampin' Up! Sets I ever owned and it is probably the most used of all my sets.
The Stampin' Up! colours used on the first two cards are Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise, Kiwi Kiss and Whisper White. These colours were inspired by the latest Just Add Ink Challenge which can be found on the Just Add Ink Blog. The verse on the first card is non Stampin' Up! but I used it because of its bright and cheery words, suiting the bright and cheery colours.
For the third card I resorted to the Stampin' Up! Colours of Old Olive (my old faithful), So Saffron, Tangerine Tango and Whisper White.
I hope the colours of these cards lifted your spirits like they did mine.
Until next time
Danielle
