My Card - For Challenge Representing A Fight Against Breast Cancer

Here is my card ......hurried as it was due to me going away this weekend with my Stampin' Up! Upline and Team Members and having lots to do between now and then.

Our (Ten to Tango Blog Group's)  First  Challenge was to do a card that represents the fight for Breast Cancer.  Immediately what comes to mind for me is the colour pink and pink ribbons which is the most commonly recognised symbol for breast cancer. 

This year in Australia more than 14,000 women are expected to be diagnosed with Breast Cancer, it is the most common cancer suffered by women.  Of this figure it is estimated that 88% of these women will survive, so secondly what comes to mind when I think of this is how brave and strong any women who has to battle this disease really is.

The female outline I have sponged in white is taken from the logo (except theirs is pink) for the Breast Cancer Network of Australia who truly do amazing work for sufferers of Breast Cancer and for their families.  What struck me about this image was its simplicity yet it is the recognition of such a simple image that sends such a powerful message. I chose to use this image on my card to represent the fight against Breast Cancer and the amazing strength of a woman when faced with adversity such as being  told she has such a disease.  It is the power of such a message and the inner strength of such a women that truly is amazing, impressive and inspiring to us all.    It gives us all Hope.  Hope that we will one day find a cure, and hope to all suffers that they are not alone and they can beat this disease.
