I have been trying to play with my punches more of late and discovered a few people using their 2 Step Bird Punch from Stampin' Up! to make a poinsettia, hence I made my own version of one for this card. Other punches used to make this flower were the 1/2 inch Circle Punch for the backing base, the 3/4 Inch Circle and Boho Blossoms punch for my flower centre. I have sponged Choc Chip and Riding Hood Red Ink around the leaves and used Dazzling Diamonds on the centre.
I am loving the traditional Colours for Christmas this year and I have teamed up Old Olive and Red Riding Hood for this card. The DSP was just some Christmas Papers left over from last years Catty for my green leaves and flower centre. For my background I have used the flourish from the Baroque Motifs Stamp Set and a small flower stamp that was from the Flight of the Butterfly set. The sentiment 'Season's Greetings' is from Many Merry Messages.
My card design/background was very basic as it was the first time I had created this poinsettia, however I think it would also be stunning for a more vintage design.
I think I am finally getting Christmas under control (a deep sigh of relief.......ahhhhh!)
Anyway off to stamp some more.
