So my Saturday was spent telling people to go away, setting up my craft room, turning up the radio and incorporating some head down bum up action. I had a minor setback later that day when my computer decided to have a hissy fit and didn't like or want me to connect to the ScrapLounge. But after a phone call to a computer expert (Shazz's hubby) and stopping to eat a yummy dinner cooked by my DH. I grabbed a glass of wine, (got in trouble for singing to loud - when the football was on) and finished my final project for the month. I think I crawled into bed around 11pm.
I felt good about all I had achieved that day and it goes to prove just how much we can accomplish when we set our minds to it. So without further ado, I will share my layout for this month's Sketch with you.
This is a copy of a professional photo taken of my sister and I. I think I must have been about 12. I don't have a great number of photos of my sister and I together so it was important for me to scrap at least one.
This month the theme over at the ScrapLounge is Flowers, very fitting don't you think with Mother's Day just around the corner. So for this layout I made my flower embellishment from a recycled Coke Can. I ran it through the Big Shot to firstly cut the shape and then to emboss it. I than painted it with Metallic Gold Acrylic Paint and Pearlescent Olive Ink to tone in with the rest of my layout. The papers (Basic Grey Curio) and other bits and pieces such as the Kaiser Pearl Flourish were all kindly donated by this Month's Sponsor Mad About Scrappin'.
You can see the sketch and further details about this challenge and the technique Challenge and what prize is in store for the winners by visiting the ScrapLounge.
I am slowly getting back into the swing of things, and have lots to catch up with in the crafting world including getting back into a regular routine.
I hope to be back in the next few days and share with you my other ScrapLounge Projects for May.
Until them Happy Creating.
