A Few of My Favorite Things!

Hi Everyone, and welcome to my new followers.  I hope that wherever and whatever you up to today you are enjoying.  We have had some rather windy and cold weather the past few days so staying indoors and crafting was an easy choice for me today.

It's time for my next DT Post for The Robin's Nest so today I am sharing with you a few of my favorite things in my garden and a few of my favorite items from The Robin's Nest on a scrap layout.  It seems like ages since I have done any scrapbooking and I must say I am feeling a little rusty at it.

We have many different birds that visit our garden but the blue wren is my favorite, small in size but big in character they live in close proximity to our home and you usually only have to look out the window to see them going about their everyday business.  Like most birds it is the male that has the very showy blue feathers.  My favorite flower is the frangapani and we grow a number of these both in pots and in our garden in a variety of colors.  My third favorite thing you will find in our garden is the Green Tree Frog.  These little and not so little frogs help keep the insects, particularly mosquitoes under control.  They can often be found during the day sleeping in the hanging self watering pots.

My main photo on my layout came as a surprise visitor to our garden on one miserable wet day last summer.  A Short Beaked Echidna.  He must have been looking for some ants to eat, as he was determined to explore every inch of our pool area.  We eventually had to sweep him up into a dustpan and take him to another part of the garden and send him on his way as our dog had spotted him and wanted to take a closer look.

My combination of papers (Glitter Coffee Creme Swirl, and Glitter Mocha Trail) with their neutral tones and foliage like flourishes work wonderfully with the garden theme, earthy shades and pops of color from my photos.  And no layout is complete with out a little bit of glitter and bling right, so I have added some brown toned dew drops (my all time favorite Robin's Nest Product) from the In Love in Italy Minis.

You will find that The Robin's Nest also have a wonderful range of design elements for your pages such as the Glitter Alphabets which I have used for my title and Glitter Journal Boxes.  I have used a Gold Glitter Journal Box on my layout, I have simply cut out around the glitter design of the journal box and layered some punched strips over it to coordinate with my garden theme.

Two different sized flower border punches, some stamping and sponged color complete my page.

Hi Danie, your layout looks wonderful and the photos are amazing... we have those blue wrens here too and I love them!! we have had visits from echidna's on a few occasions, and we used to have platypus in our creek before it dried up, not sure if they have come back now that we have water in it now... so that is lovely to have all these beautiful creatures around you!

Hi Danie its fascinating to see the creatures you attract to your garden. I love nature and am an avid birdwatcher, and to me its exciting to see your exotic visitors.
I would love to see more and hope you are able to scrap more pages in the future.
