What's on your Workdesk? Wednesday #237

Happy Wednesday!  I have this morning arrived back from a few days away at the beach and with not much else needing my attention thought I would join in the fun again this week.  With being away my work desk hasn't really changed much in the past fortnight since my last WOYWW post.  What's the big deal about my desk? Well head over here to our hostess Julia's blog and find out!

One supply item which was in good use prior to my departure was my Distress Stains.  They are perfect for when you are time poor and I just love using them for quick random and colorful backgrounds.  I have been combining them with lots of background and Christmas Stamps for some fun tags like the one shown above which are perfect for gift giving.  You will find my tutorial for these tags over at Unruly Paper Arts

And they also make fabulous backgrounds for cards too!

Heading into the new year I have decided my word for 2014 is Time, so I was playing with some of the stamps from the new Time on Your Side Stamp Set from Altered Pages, they are perfect to mark so many different occasions with the various time related sentiments out there.  Like Time to Celebrate, Time to Dream, etc.

Speaking of Time - this past week as mentioned I have taken some time out; and yesterday we spent the day exploring Mt Tamborine part of the Gold Coast Hinterland which included a walk through the rain-forest, a nice lunch and some wine tasting.  So in finishing my post today I thought I would share one of my favorite photos taken yesterday.

This is the Richmond Bird Wing Butterfly which is native to my home region of the Northern Rivers of NSW and also parts of Queensland but sadly endangered.  Here she is in all her glory just having landed on the Lantana.  Unfortunately this photo doesn't do her colors of red and yellow justice but I love it all the same.

Wishing all my fellow deskers and their families a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and I look forward to popping by your desks in 2014.

I love your time stamps. Time is something I wish I had more of and hope to get in 2014 (fingers crossed). I haven't been to Mt Tamborine since I was a teenager, I used to love it there. Glad you had a nice time away.
Have a wonderful Christmas.

Love your tags! I am a big fan of distress inks and stains and love what you did with yours. Your butterfly pic made me smile as it is freezing here in NYC today we even had snow yesterday. Wishing you a very Happy Holiday! Winnie#51

Hello Danielle, lovely post. Your tags are fabulous - great colour combinations. The pic of the butterfly is gorgeous and a walk through a rain-forest sounds like such an exotic and romantic thing to do on a day out to me - the best we have here in the south-west of Scotland is a very soggy woodland walk :) Thanks for sharing. I wish you and yours the most wonderful Christmas and all that you hope for yourselves throughout the coming year. Hugs, Elizabeth x #45

Lovely delicate picture, how nice to have a walk and some time out, you must be supremely well organised! With you on the distress stains and inks, and like your time tags very much....I'm not having a single word...it'll be a phrase for me....when I've got some time to consider it,

Great colors on the time cards. Distress inks are great for all the blending.

How odd to think that you are having completely opposite seasons from us. Enjoy the nice weather!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and for the lovely comments.

Happy Woyww and Happy Christmas,

Such a beautiful part of our lovely country and one of my favorites too. I love the Lamington National park also where you can walk down and under the waterfall and see such wonderful forests. We did filming up there many years ago and well worth the hike.

Love your tags they are so bright and cheery, perfect for this time of year.
