Merry Altered Christmas Jean!

I forgot I do have one more Christmas Project to share, it is not Christmas themed but intended as part of a overall Christmas Gift to the very lovely Jean - owner of Altered Pages.

Each member of the Design Team was to create a FAT Page using products available from Altered Pages in rich and jewel like colors with a Feminine Theme.

Color and Texture makes me Happy so that is where my inspiration started for this page as I wanted to put my heart on the page.  I started by adding Paint, and torn pieces of paper.  Some papers were actually paper towel pieces with which I had sopped up excess Dylusion Spray Inks used on other projects.

Simple Stamped Sentiments that resonated with me for the new year ahead as I created this page I thought would resonate with the artist within Jean also.  I do believe Jean is doing what makes her happy in running Altered Pages and sharing her art and that of others.

My page was a mix of different textures.  To the left of the above picture is a piece of Sari Silk Ribbon, overlapped by a piece of embossed acetate, to the right is a die cut scallop border covered with Texture Paste through a Stencil and Acrylic Paint.

This picture shows the die cut scallop border in more detail.  I changed White Petaloo Flowers to coordinate using Turquoise Dylusions Spray Ink.  The Gold Script Embossed Card was an inclusion from one of the Altered Pages Ephemera Treasure Packs.  Burlap adds yet another texture and the Dew Drops and German Scrap some dimension and shine.

Here you can see the embossed acetate in better detail and that the torn paper towel pieces (top left of photo) also add a slight texture.

My female imagery (from the Dancing Shoes Collage Sheet) is one that radiates with color.  She is dancing to the beat of her own drum, putting on a brave face she also courageously chooses to dance like no one is watching and because she does she brightens the world of all those who know her.

I wanted to create a page rich in color, and tempting with texture urging you to reach out and touch it. as I am so touched that a little piece of myself and my art has now joined with others to let some one know how much we love them.  A big thank you must also go to Lyneen Jesse who came up with this wonderful idea.

If you stop by the Altered Pages Blog today you can see the entire book which was received by Jean on Christmas Day and all the pages created by my fellow Design Team Members.
