Good Morning! Another Day has flown by so quickly..........the past few weeks I have been trying to spend more time creating rather than stuck to the computer and its been working out great. I have spent a few hours each day in my creative haven playing with paint and color.
I brought some new paints and mixed media products from DecoArt in January at Time to Create, and have been giving their Media Fluid Acrylics a bit of a work out, particularly their colors Cobalt Teal Hue, Titan Buff and Raw Sienna.
Here I have used them along with their Metallic Lustre to create some underwater ATC's for a swap I am participating in.
The theme of the swap was to use Lace or Stitching. I bet you guessed I stayed cleared of the stitching so I chose to use a lace edge from a paper doily to add texture to my background and give it a look of coral.
I glued this down first with some Gel Medium, then painted the entire background with the Cobalt Teal Paint. Once dry with my finger I added some Titan Buff across the bottom to resemble the sand and a little bit randomly elsewhere on the card, followed by some Raw Sienna. Once this was dry I added a touch of the Metallic Lustre over where the doily had been added. I then completed the scene with some Seaweed (Darkroom Door Stamp) in Green Archival Ink and my three underwater elements of the Seahorse, Star Fish and Seashell (Hampton Arts Stamps) which I stamped and then colored with my Inktense Watercolor Pencils.
I love the vibrancy of color on these, now I just have to get them in the mail.
Here's a few more projects created recently using my Media Products from DecoArt.
Here I was using up some excess paint from another project. I created my background as scanned into the pc to be used for a digital piece. |
Here I used a mix of the Media Fluid Acrylics and Metallic Paints to color my book base. |
