My First DT Post for The Robin's Nest

Hi Everyone!  Today was my first post for The Robin's Nest over on their blog - Chattering Robin's.  For this project I decided to revisit a very popular gift item I had shared once before on my blog using some of the Glittered Animal Papers you'll find over at The Robin's Nest Store.

It is a Mini Magazine Holder Gift Card Set.  These have proved to be very popular at market stalls.  The Gift Cards are ATC Size and are quick and easy to make, simply use the same paper you have used for your Holder, some stamps (I have used some cute animal ones from the Stampin' Up Wild About You Set), and a little bling to finish.  For my cards I used some Dew Drops also from The Robin's Nest.  In no time you have a cute gift perfect for giving.

I have also included for the first time a tutorial on how to make these cute gift card holders, so for the full post and tutorial be sure to pop over to The Chattering Robin's Blog here.

Here's a photo of another set I made using another of the Animal Print Papers from the Robin's Nest and some Red Diamond Dew Drops.

Flash Back Friday Challenge 23.0

I paid a visit to Flash Back Fridays latest Challenge and found that they were revisiting your first cards made with a butterfly or butterflies on it, and because I love butterflies I just had to play along.   After all who doesn't love butterflies.

I thought it would have been one of the subjects of some of the first cards I made/blogged about but much to my surprise it wasn't. I don't think this would have been the first card I ever made using a butterfly however it is the first one I ever blogged about that I can share with you.  It was back in July 2010.

The card was actually part of a set of cards I made as a gift held in a mini magazine holder.  I made a series of different magazine holders and note cards which I also shared as part of this post.  The butterfly stamp was actually a tiny incentive stamp from Stampin' Up! from the days when I was a Demonstrator.  The original post can be found here.  It was the first time I had made these tiny magazine holder files after being given the template from one of my crafting friends.

Do you recall your first ever card made featuring a butterfly?  If you love butterflies like I do, you will see lots of lovely butterflies over at Flashback Fridays so be sure to pop over and check them out!

Mini Magazine File Holders - Definitely Worth a Note

Aren't these cute, they are a mini magazine file holder filled with matching note cards and envelopes.  They make the perfect little gift set to give to someone or to keep for yourself and use the notecards to give to your friends and family.  I made these seven sets (all different) to sell at the upcoming Lismore Car Boot Market.

The template for this and the idea came from my downline team member Judi!  So a big thank you to Judi for sharing this with me as I love them.  Each card is approx 6 x 9cm and the envelopes they fit in are 6.5 x 9.5cm.

This first set is using the Sweet Always DSP and Pun Fun Stamp Sets by Stampin' Up!.  I coloured in my images with my Stampin' Write Markers.  I added a felt flower with brad centre to the magazine file for an added touch.  The felt flower is from the Flower Fusion II Accent and Elements Kit by Stampin' Up!.

Both of these sets are using the Cottage Wall DSP and Cottage Wall Stamp Sets, with the Sincere Salutations Sentiment Stamps being used on the cards in the Olive Magazine File whilst the Rich Razzleberry Magazine File's sentiments are from Vintage Labels.

For this set I used Pun Fun coloured in with my Stampin' Write Markers again, and have teamed it up with the Spot on Jumbo Wheel to create my background in So Saffron Ink.

One of my all time favorite colour combos is Pacific Point and White, so I couldn't go past using this with one of the Pacific Point Patterned DSP's and my Sincere Salutation Sentiment Stamps.  This set has a more crisp, clean, elegant look.  I used my Boho Blossom Punch and Clear Rhinestone Brads to create the flower.

I was really happy with the way this set turned out, and I think the colours I used in this set turned out to be my favorite, they are a very soft and pretty combination of various shades of pink, green and yellow.  Once again I used my Stampin' Write Markers to create this matching set, colouring in images from the Fast Fun Notes Stamp Set.  This stamp set is a great set for beginners as it has a stamp for most occasions and the sentiment is included with the image on the one stamp.  You can choose to stamp the image with or without the sentiment.

For this last set I have used some of Stampin' Up!'s Incentive Stamps which I have collected over the years, which are tiny little stamps usually used as hostess gifts etc.  I chose to use these as they are just the right size for framing on the front of my note cards and they have some really cute little images and sentiments.

Todays post is a little longer than normal, thanks to all the images, but I just couldn't do this post about the magazine file holders without sharing them all with you.  It certainly shows you the endless possibilities available for this cute little project.  I hope you like it.
