My Heart Pieces - Vibrant Colors

Just a quick post today to share with you the new Challenge starting at My Heart Pieces Challenge Blog which is Vibrant Colors.

For My Card I have used the delightful Peacock Image which I have water-colored with my Gelatos and I have also used my Gelatos for my Emboss Resist Background, adding some pearls to the corners with my Viva Decor Pearl Pen in Sunny Yellow.  A piece of paper from  K & Co Citronella Collection frames this.

My Heart Pieces - Anything Cute

Hi Everyone!  It's time for another fun challenge at My Heart Pieces Challenges.  This fortnight we simply want to see Anything Cute!

With Christmas just around the corner I went with the cute image Listing Your Wishes and used some Stampin' Up! paper scraps from my ever growing pile of left overs.  Have you ever wondered which one of Santa's Lists you would have been on.  The Naughty or the Nice?  I was wondering which list this was he was going through as I made this card, hence my sentiment.  The candy cane and christmas bauble chipboard pieces which I have simply covered with some Kindy Glitz are from the Maya Road Christmas Tree Book Kit which I got from Altered Pages.

Sorry it's just a quick post today, but we have our carpets and tiles being cleaned tomorrow so I am in the middle of packing some things up so they are out of the way and had better get back to it.

My Heart Pieces - Use Ribbon

Hi Everyone!  I hope you have had a great week, mine has been a combination of scary, exciting, thought provoking and draining.  All of which is part of a process we are going through that could impact our future greatly.  But I can't let the cat out of the bag just yet so it's time for another fun challenge over at My Heart Pieces Challenges.  The theme this fortnight is to use Ribbon!  And as October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month I chose to work with one of Priyanka's newer images called Take Care.

This was perfect for our theme also as I had some wide pink ribbon crying out to be used.  So I have simply layered two strips of it behind my image and over my stripe background paper which is from The Robin's Nest.  The image is colored with Tria Markers and I have added a Dew Drop also from The Robin's Nest to each corner.

My Heart Pieces - Monochromatic Challenge

A new challenge has started over at My Heart Pieces Digital Challenges.  This fortnight we want to see all your monochromatic card making skills.

My Heart Pieces - Use Black

Hi Everyone!  I am back with a second post today, after surviving the girls day out with my Mother and Sister.  We had a lovely day out enjoying some shopping and a lovely lunch at the Summerland House Farm/House with No Steps which is a charitable organisation that provides meaningful employment for adults who have a disability.  It combines a work-working area, nursery, farm, gift shop, museum, and cafe/restaurant, and also has putt putt golf and a water park for the kids with extensive gardens throughout the grounds. My sister who is down from Queensland visiting now has a car full of plants and pots to take home whilst Mum and I brought some local produce including honey roasted macadamias and a roasted capsicum, chilli and cashew nut pesto.

Anyway on to my card!

With Halloween just around the corner the challenge this week over at My Heart Pieces Challenge Blog we want you to get in the mood and create using Black.

You could say I've gone dotty over this challenge this week!  My card today uses Black and White Polka Dot Paper from Bo Bunny and my Scalloped Card Cutting File once again which is from the Cutting Cafe's Shaped Card Collection.    To highlight the scallops I have simply punched some circles from plain black paper.  This adorable image is called Noyontara from My Heart Pieces Digital Stamps.  Isn't she just the cutest.  I have colored her with my Tria Markers adding some little pearls as buttons on her jeans.

My Heart Pieces - Anything Goes

Good Morning and a big hello to all my new followers.  I have loved reading your lovely comments left for me this week, I do so appreciate them.  I am hoping to repay some visits over this coming weekend as I've been a bit slack the past few days as I have been trying to get ahead on some DT projects in the middle of having a big tidy up of my craft room and attempting to move it back into the office.

Yesterday a new challenge kicked off over at My Heart Pieces Digitals Challenge Blog.  Anything Goes!

I've been in Autumn Card Mode this week, so while having all my warm toned papers out I decided to go with the adorable image called Celebrating Autumn and create this card!  I have colored my image with my Tria Markers, the papers are from Stampin' Up! (retired) and the Sentiment for Unity Stamp Co.

I must say I have never seen anyone with a pumpkin on their head and Halloween and fall aren't really celebrated here to a great extent but I have seen them do this with a watermelon in the warmer months which are what we are heading into now.

My Heart Pieces - Lots of Layers Challenge

It's time for another Challenge at My Heart Pieces and we simply want to see you use Lots of Layers on your cards this fortnight.  We are joined by a fabulous sponsor too this week.

My card today uses the delightful image Ankhi from My Heart Pieces and elements from the SVG Cutting File for the Sweet Cupcake Card from the Breezy Backyard Lever Cards Collection.  

I have colored Ankhi in with my Twinkling H20's  added three small purple rhinestone to the flowers draped across her front.  My card has been cut from various pieces of my favorite retired Stampin' Up! Designer Papers.  To the frame around the card front I have added three flowers which I have cut using my Spellbinders Carnation Die and Clear and Purple Dew Drops from the Robin's Nest.

My Heart Pieces - Show us Your Favorite Colors

Hi Everyone!  I am back with my second post for today.  It's time for a new challenge at My Heart Pieces and this fortnight we want you to show us your favorite colors.  This week the challenge is being sponsored by the Cutting Cafe!  If you haven't visited Regina's site before, you really should as she has a wonderful range of digital images and cutting files for every occasion.   I have used some of her cutting files in some of my previous projects which I have cut by hand, but I am pleased to say that I finally gave in and brought a cutting machine a few months back, so my card today was the first chance I had to play with it using SVG files.

I was given the Window Sill Cutting File from The Cutting Cafe and chose the Ankhi Image from My Heart Pieces Digitals to work with this week.  My favorite color is purple and my favorite color combo for card making is Pink and Green so I have combined all of these into my card today.  Don't you love the detail of the window.  The shutters, curtains, window box were all part of the cutting file.  I simply added Ankhi so that it appeared she was looking out the window and a few leaves and flowers to the flower box.

I am definitely having fun (aswell as a few hiccups along the way) learning how to use my new machine, and I can't wait to play some more.  If you'd love to play some more, why not show us your favorite colors and make a card for the latest challenge at My Heart Pieces.

My Heart Pieces - Use Designer Paper!

Hi again, I am back as promised with my second post today.  This card is for the latest challenge over at My Heart Pieces Digital Stamps, where we want to see your cards using your Designer Papers, preferably your favorite ones.

For my card I am using a gingham paper, which is something I don't normally use but I so love seeing Gingham elements on everyone else's creations that I was inspired to try it!  My card today also uses the sweet image Noyontara After Bath by My Heart Pieces.

I just had to use this fun sentiment from Unity Stamp Co, as Bunny Slippers are definitely classy in my fashion books.........lol.

My Heart Pieces Challenge - Use Squares or Circles

Hi Everyone, I hope you are all doing well!  It's time for another Challenge over at My Heart Pieces.  This fortnight we want to see you use either squares or circles on your creations.

I decided to go with Circles and have used a variety of them in my design.  Firstly the image - Ice Cream Cutie has been colored with my Tria Markers and then cut out with my spellbinders circle die.  I have layered the background with circles cut from one of my Echo Park Paper Scraps in both 1 3/4 inches and 1 inch size, and I have also cut spirals from the circles punched from a second patterned paper.  I think my hoping summer arrives here soon has me once again using lots of bright colors.

Buttons and my flowers also round out the circle theme.  A Sweet Birthday Wish Sentiment is from one of my Unity KOTM Sets.

My Heart Pieces - Make Something Special for Someone!

This is my second post today - For the New Summer Release from Platypus Creek please scroll down to my previous post.

Things have changed a little over at My Heart Pieces Challenge Blog this month, instead of our challenges commencing on the 1st and 15th of the Month they will now be every second Thursday (fortnightly) from today!  Our new challenge this fortnight is to make something for someone special.  When choosing my image for this challenge I couldn't go past the Friends Forever Image as it reminded me of how much I miss having a coffee and good chat with one of my dear friends. We used to catch up on a regular basis but as life does it throws things in the way and we haven't done so in what seems like ages.

So with my friend in mind I made this card!

My Heart Pieces Challenge #3 Summer Loving & Relaxation

Hi Everyone!  I hope you have had a wonderful week.  I definitely have, even with a touch of bad luck thrown in.  I have had lots of good news this week, I found out I won a couple of crafty prizes and my week will be topped off by me attending a She Art Class at 'Time To Create' tomorrow and catching up with all my crafty friends who I haven't seen for what seems like ages.  Its been about 2.5 months since I last caught up with the ladies with everything happening here following the passing of Rod's Dad.  We are actually going with Rod's Mum to place his ashes in the Wall at the lawn cemetery today, so it will be a bit of a hard time for us all today.

This fortnight over at My Heart Pieces Challenge Blog we are celebrating all things Summer and what it is you love to do to relax during Summer.

For my family, Summer means leisurely Sundays enjoying a barbecue or cooked breakfast, reading the paper with a coffee in hand all whilst outdoors enjoying all that nature has to offer.  So when I saw this Busy Dad Image I new this would be perfect to best represent all that we love about Summer as well as being suitable for a Father's Day Card which is being celebrated in some Countries this month.

I have teamed the image up with some Echo Park Papers, added in some grass and sky and the cute clouds which I stamped using a Unity KOTM Stamp.  I am mixed about how I feel about the end result with this card.   I guess its a little different for me, but I also feel it's not quite balanced.  The jury is out!

My Heart Pieces - Blog Hop and Challenge #2

We had an overwhelming number of participants join in the fun of  the very First Challenge at My Heart Pieces  this past fortnight.  Who doesn't love an Anything Goes Challenge right?  The lucky winner will be announced shortly but today marks another first for My Heart Pieces and the DT.

My card today uses the My Heart Pieces Image called Summer, I have colored the image with my Tria Markers (very rough strokes and blending to give a more watercolor feel) and some ink which I have sponged on with my sponge daubers.  My handmade flower was made using my Scallop Circle and Smaller Circle Punches.

My Heart Pieces - First Challenge & DT Projects

THIS IS MY THIRD POST TODAY - Please scroll down to See Platypus Creek Digital New Graduation Release and Magical Monday Sketch Challenge Posts.

Today is the first ever My Heart Pieces Challenge and also marks the reveal of the first projects from the newly formed My Heart Pieces DT, so be sure to pop over to the blog to see the wonderful images by Priyanka and the fabulous and inspirational creations by all the DT.  All of the images can be purchased from Priyanka's Store attached to her blog.

The Challenges for My Heart Pieces will run bi monthly on the 1st and 15th of every month and to kick it off today's challenge theme is ANYTHING GOES.

For my card today I chose the delightful image 'Mermaid Couple'.  In wanting to feature the image I chose to do a CAS Design and not use any patterned papers.  Instead I kept it simple and simply embellished in a way to frame the image.  A bit like viewing an underwater scene through a porthole in a ship.  I coloured in the image using a combination of my Tria Markers and Twinkling H20's (Watercolour Paint with a Shimmer).  The Star Fish, Blue Dew Drops and Pearl Chain were all from my Stash.

Revisiting the Past and a New DT

This week I was given the exciting news that I had been selected for the new My Hearts Pieces DT and will be creating projects for the My Heart Pieces Challenge Blog.

Priyanka (Owner/Designer)  has just recommenced selling her digital images through her blog/store after taking a break to study.  You may know or even have used some of her images in the past as they were previously available through Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps Store.

This is actually where I first came across Priyanka's work, last year when I purchased a Collaboration of Images from Stitchy Bear Stamps because I was looking for some wedding images.

The above card I made last July using the Image 'Waiting For You'.  It was my first attempt of using my then new Tria Markers on Gloss Card Stock.  I just love this sweet image, and I am so looking forward to sharing more like this with you as part of the My Heart Pieces DT.
