What a lovely week I have had!

Can I just say that this past week was probably one of the nicest I have had in a long time.  Why you ask.......it's because I have spent time with lots of lovely people and made some new friends along the way via the internet, and got back in touch with some old and dear friends.

Usually every Tuesday Fortnight I go out and visit my dear friend Julie, who owns Time to Create at Modanville (small village ten or so minutes from Lismore).  It takes me 40 mins to get there but the drive is well worth it.  Julie and her husband also own a nursery on their property so it has some beautiful gardens to explore and relax in, and there is always a new plant to discover or see in full bloom.  She is a currently overseas so last week before heading off, for our little group of crafters she had a special surprise.  She had a blank Jigsaw MDF Frame and a little die cut for us of a bird and cage, so our challenge for the day was to come up with a design/layout for these pieces.  Here is what mine ended up as.

I really love how it turned out.  I am not a big scrapper and haven't done much off the page stuff so this task was a little daunting at first but it just gradually evolved.  It wasn't anything like what my first thoughts were but I am sure that is how we all approach our card making and scrapping.  You have an idea and once you start working with it it just evolves.  I decided to make it into a little quote frame which I will hang in my craft room, and I chose to use one of the saying stamps from the 'Heard from the Heart Stamp Set' (the only Stampin' Up! Item used on this layout).

This saying at the time felt right, and it is now kinda fitting for the week I have had because to me it is kindness that has made this week so special.  The lovely people some of whom were complete strangers, who have reached out and said something nice and made me feel special, its the new friends made who have wanted to get together and scrap who made me laugh and forget the time. Its the old friends who have stayed in touch all these years on and off but can still make it feel like it was only yesterday.

So to all those people out there who made me have such a lovely week, and you all know who you are.  Thank You.

One Group of lovely new friends I have made are those members of the Ten to Tango Blog Group.  They are all ladies who like me love their papercrafts.  A few are Stampin' Up! Demonstrators some aren't (but don't hold that against them.....lol).  I urge you to visit and take a look at all their beautiful blogs as I am sure you will find inspiration on them all.

Until next time take care.

Danielle
