In this post I also shared with you some of the statistics about Breast Cancer here in Australia. This challenge actually was quite thought provoking and rewarding for me because it went way beyond just thinking about making a card. So I would like to thank Jenn for setting us all such a wonderful and meaningful first challenge.
The second part of the challenge was to donate this card to a local Breast Cancer Foundation, so I will be sending my card out this week to the Breast Cancer Network of Australia, which is the foundation I spoke about in my initial post for this challenge.
I have just read this morning that I was announced the winner. I am so thrilled as this was the first ever challenge I have entered in, and it means even more because of how rewarding this challenge was and the cause it did represent. So a big thank you to everyone who voted for my card.
Before ending my post today I also wanted to share with you a verse on a stamp I discovered yesterday when I travelled to Brisbane for the Scrapbook and Papercraft Convention. Out of the thousands of stamps on display I only browsed through a couple but funnily enough found one particular stamp which related back to our Card Challenge. This stamp is actually about Cancer, or should I say what Cancer Cannot Do.
It reads:
What Cancer Cannot Do.
Cancer is so limited -
It cannot cripple love,
It cannot shatter hope,
It cannot corrode faith,
It cannot destroy peace,
It cannot kill friendship,
It cannot suppress memories,
It cannot silence courage,
It cannot invade the soul,
I cannot steal eternal life,
It cannot conquer the spirit.
How true this is.
Until next time
Danie
