I hope most of you are sitting down, because today it is not a card but a Scrapbook layout I am going to share with you. This layout was inspired by my day of waiting for a phone call yesterday, but I designed it for the Christmas Scrapbook Challenge over at the ScrapLounge.
The Challenge was to include Lyrics or part of a song on your layout, use a shaped photo mat, three and only three embellishments and machine or hand stitiching of on your layout.
So with no further ado, here is my layout.
The Lyrics I chose were from the song, 'Hanging on the Telephone' by Blondie.
They go
It's good to hear your voice, you know its been so long,
If I don't get your calls then everything goes wrong.
I want to tell you something you've known all along,
Don't leave me hanging on the telephone.
This was a photo someone took of me when I was in my late teens, I kinda look distressed on the phone don't I. Maybe I was talking to a old flame or something. Notice James Dean in the background, I think that is a fad most adolescent girls go through....lol
My three embellishments are the ribbon which I have hand stitched onto the page and the two flowers I made from the Tattered Flowers Die by Tim Holtz from Sizzix. The DSP's are from the Blueberry Crisp Designer Paper Series by Stampin' Up! They are one of my favorites at present, they also coordinate with the Razzle Dazzle Stamp Set. I hand cut the shape for my photo mat and used faux stitching on this.
I don't think it turned out too bad given I do not class myself in any true meaning of the word a scrapbooker. Anyway better sign off here, as I have to go and make a phone call, until next time.
Happy Stamping and Scrapping

Impressive, Danie! Hunting through the catty for Blueberry Crisp...ah the one that matches the Razzle Dazzle stamp set...laughing at James Dean...good to see he still has it after all those years! Love the fact that the phone is a dial phone with the coiled cord! I'm not so old...
