Spring has Sprung!

Happy Saturday Everyone!  I hope you are all enjoying your weekend.  We have been enjoying the start to Spring here today, well at least I have as hubby has been hard at work digging holes to lay some new drainage whilst I got out and about in the garden spending time watering some plants and admiring what has come into flower.

This is a photo of the first flower of Spring on one of our Orchids which was given to us by our friend Julie who owns my Local Scrapbooking Store - Time to Create and Idyll Hours Nursery.  If you love orchids or other unusual plants you really should check out Julies blog

Spring is such a wonderful time of year, it's a time of renewal, new life and for some even change.  You may have noticed a few changes to my blog with my new header and also a new addition to the DT List. In the past twelve months I really delved into the digi world of paper crafting which I love for the ease of use when you are short on time.  But in doing so I found that my traditional crafting supplies and stash have been getting neglected so I am planning on moving back towards the traditional and the getting messy. My recent appointment to The Robin's Nest DT and my newest appointment to the Altered Pages DT  will be helping  me to do just this.  I will fill you in a little more about Altered Pages in the coming weeks as I am currently working on couple of projects using their products.  In the meantime you can always pop over and take a look at their website/store.  It definitely is a treasure trove waiting to be discovered by the mixed media artist.

Another thing I love about Spring and which also symbolizes change is Butterflies.  So in keeping with my Spring Theme of this post I have a couple of Butterfly ATC's to share with you which I have made for a swap over at ATC's for All.

These mixed media collages use papers and butterfly images from Crafty Individuals, Stamps from Darkroom Door.  The first ATC uses a background I received in a previous background swap which was created from fellow aussie crafter Ruth who goes under the name Mouse-it over at ATC's for All.  The second and third ATC have a little sprinkle of glitter on them which was applied whilst the sealing coat of Gel Medium was still a little wet.

Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoy what is left of your weekend!

Danie I am a bit envious because that particular orchid is being a little slow here for us. We both share a passion for butterflies and so I am waiting anxiously for the first storms to arrive as they will herald the gorgeous butterflies arrival. Our garden looks fantastic right now as lots of colour is exploding everywhere but I would love to send you some very LOUD birds that I swear look in our windows to make sure we are asleep before they start their fussing and yelling.
I am SO Glad that you are coming back over to the world of mixed media and fun that I love. Yippee!
