Hi Everyone! I hope you are all doing well. I don't know what it is but the last half of the week keeps disappearing in a flash and I seem to be getting nowhere fast. This week I joined the Michelle Bridges 12WBT (a weight loss/fitness program) so have been busy trying to get my head around counting calories and exercise....something I haven't done for a while......lol. After four days I am feeling much better in myself having exercised each day and having stuck to my meal plan. My goal for these next 12 weeks is to lose 15kg and by doing so be healthier and fitter.
Anyway apart from this I've been trying to clean up my two desks in my crafting room before Christmas so I have a couple of Christmas Cards for my Robin's Nest DT Project which is due today showing some simple ways to use up some of the scrap papers and other bits you may have piling up on your desk.
My first card uses up some strips of the the Classic Glitter Swirl Papers in three Classic Christmas Colors which were off cuts from previous projects. I have cut the Silver Glitter Swirl on Cream and Gold Glitter Swirl on Cream Swirl Papers into 3 cm strips and simply layered these right across the card base alternately. You could if you like cut these strips shorter than the width of your card and make a more patchwork effect for a completely different look again. I have inked over these all with some Gold Ink. I have then taken a smaller strip of the Red Glitter Swirl on Red and added this to one side. Using a larger scrap of the Gold Glitter Swirl I have used the reverse Cream Awning side to stamp my sentiment which I have done using Versamark and brushing over it with some Gold Perfect Pearls Powder. To finish my card I have used a piece of silver ribbon a Collage Image (Another Ivory Angel from Altered Pages) and three Red Metallic Dew Drops all of which were sitting on my Desk at the time.
This idea also makes fabulous Christmas Decorations and you can take any shape that folds into identical halves to do this. However I have used mine to decorate my card front today instead. I have simply flattened it down and stuck it onto my card front which I had already stamped with a flourish and my Sentiment. I then added a small piece of Silver ribbon to make it look like a hanging ornament and then added some Dew Drops to finish.
Well that's just a couple of ideas on how to use up your Paper Scraps, your favorite stamps and some of my favorite Bling Dew Drops which are from The Robin's Nest. If you are a regular visitor to my blog you will find that using up my paper scraps has been featured in most of my recent posts of late, but I still have lots more to get through, so I'd really love to see/hear what ideas you may have come up with to use your scraps. Until next time, enjoy whatever you do!

These are beautiful cards, Danie. Even though they are made from scraps, you managed to put them all together beautifully. I think it is such fun to try to figure out how to best utilize them, and I certainly love what you did. Great job!

Two beautiful holiday cards!! I love your layered star!! I may have to try that on today's CAS challenge!!
Both or your cards are so pretty! I like the flourish and 3D star and I like the nostalgic look the angle gives the first card.
