Faces that Fascinate

This month over at Unruly PaperArts the theme is Let's Face It.  Featuring all things on how to incorporate faces into your Art.  From the whimsical to the realistic its all there.

So my article for Unruly this month will be sharing some musings,  a little bit of history and my project playing with Pan Pastels but it took a bit of a different turn to what I was originally working on so today I am sharing some of my original plans.

Oriental Faces of Geishas and those of Buddahs often grace my creations, and when I started thinking about faces in my everyday life I immediately thought of the Buddhas that contribute to my home decor, and Geishas, along with the calmness, serenity, the peace and wisdom that they so often symbolize and express.

Perhaps that is a reflection of where I am personally as we kick off the new year also and hence why I was drawn this way.

For my First ATC I have used the Geisha Image from the Rubber Dance Woman Collage Set. I have stamped this twice cutting out the Geisha, coloring her and mounting her onto the other full stamped piece with some pop dots. I have then added this to my collage (paper and paint) background and added a small snippet of G45 Birdsong Papers to the top corner, further color was added by inking the edges and adding some Gold Gelato to the circle of the stamped piece.

For my second ATC I have used the Rubber Dance Chinese Background Stamp on my background (various papers). To this I have added further paper pieces from the G45 Birdsong Papers along with a Film Strip Geisha Image from Darkroom Door.

I will share my Buddah Creations that will be part of my Unruly Article a little later this month here on my blog.

I hope that your year has started off peacefully for you.
