That's not a Christmas Stamp!

Well it's official, Christmas is now only 25 days away, and I am still making Christmas Cards.

Today I am sharing two cards that were created not using images from Christmas Sets.  They both were created using stamps from the very lovely and very versatile set called Lovely as a Tree.  This set contains three beautiful tree images as well as three leaves.  I reached for this set yesterday to make a similar card to my Dasher Card from yesterday's post using the pine tree.

This morning I reached for the tiny little three leaf image (pictured with card) from this same set to make the Christmas Garland on the second card.

I simply drew a random line with my green marker on white cardstock in the same ink colour I was going to stamp, and then proceeded to repeat stamping the leaf image along the line following its curves.  I then took my Cherry Cobbler marker and added small dots as the berries along it, which I then covered with half pearls.  I also chose to stamp my Greeting - Season's Greetings (Stamp from Many Merry Messages) just above my garland and cut out around this.  I then mounted this onto my embossed and sponged background before mounting it onto my Real Red Card Base.

Similar leaf or foilage images can also be used to go around a circle outline and you have an instant Christmas Wreath, so don't despair cos there is always heaps you can do without having a Christmas image in your stamping stash.

Counting the days till Christmas

First of all, yes, I'm not getting through the blogs as often as I should. Sorry. And secondly, I love this tree. Stretching a stamp/set and making it more versitile than it first appears is a fun thing to do. Your card is really great!
